ACigs are excited to be partnering with the Institute of Engineers in Papua New Guinea (IEPNG) to present an Engineering Technical Talk in Papua New Guinea.
This will be a joint webinar with ACigs and will discuss an introduction to geosynthetics – a family of construction materials widely used in civil engineering and mining infrastructure.
Geosynthetics provide specific functions (eg reinforcement, containment, drainage etc) and have been widely for decades in roads, slopes, tailings dams etc.
The commonly known geosynthetic products include geotextiles, geomembranes and geogrids, but there are other products that provide engineers with many benefits (such as reducing cost, risk or aggregate use).
Dr A (Malek) Bouazza is a Professor of Civil Engineering at Monash University. He is a Visiting Distinguished Professor at Zhejiang University, China.
